The CCES is recognized as a world leader in the field of anti-doping and sport ethics, and we embed quality assurance at the heart of our own operation and in the services we provide to event organizers, sport organizations and clubs.

These fee-for-service offerings allow us to bring our 30 years of experience managing Canada’s anti-doping program to the international realm, which helps level the playing field for all athletes.

If you would like to find out more about any of these services, email us at [email protected].

Anti-Doping Services

The CCES can manage all aspects of your anti-doping program, including test distribution planning, test coordination, whereabouts management, therapeutic use exemptions, athlete education, and reporting.

  • Doping Control: We can access certified doping control officers anywhere in the world to conduct Code-compliant sample collection, both urine and blood. Samples are securely transported to and analyzed at a World Anti-Doping Agency-accredited laboratory (usually the INRS in Montreal). Upon request, the CCES can provide results management in the context of your organization’s own policies.
  • Sample Collection Personnel Training and Certification: Certified sample collection personnel are at the heart of any anti-doping program. The CCES trains and certifies doping control officers (DCOs) to perform at the highest level, in compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code and international testing standards.
  • Program Audits and Evaluations: Even the most established anti-doping program can benefit from a thorough evaluation conducted by an organization that is both expert in the field and objective in its outlook. The CCES’s personnel will work with your organization to measure your program’s effectiveness and maximize its efficiencies, including preparation for a WADA compliance audit.
  • Policy Development and Review: A comprehensive policy is the foundation of any effective anti-doping program. Our team of experts can help your sport organization develop a new policy or revise an existing one, addressing the unique characteristics of your organization.
  • Major Games Services: Host societies for major games must deliver a sound anti-doping operation. The CCES can assist with the full spectrum of this work, from bid preparation to on-site operations.

Customized Education Programs

Education is the first critical step towards clean sport. We can help you generate new resources, script and deliver presentations, create evaluation tools, develop and deliver online learning, or consult with you to create sustainable, meaningful program growth -- or we can simply provide access to our CADP education for those outside the usual education pool. Regardless, we approach education with a high degree of pedagogical rigour, technical knowledge, creativity, and attention to detail... and ensure that it’s done in the right way for your audience's unique needs.

Ethics Services

Occasionally, challenges or complex questions arise and sport organizations do not have a clear path forward. The CCES can consult on the matter and support an approach forward. For more complex questions, the CCES offers the services of its Ethical Issues Review Panel, an independent group of experts that can consider the issue and provide advice to your Board of Directors and CEO.

“The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) acted as a contracted service provider to the TO2015 Organizing Committee through the planning and delivery of the anti-doping program for the Games. Using an intelligence based approach to the design of the TO2015 anti-doping program, the CCES incorporated sample collection personnel training, test distribution planning, development of educational anti-doping resources, and laboratory requirements to ensure a robust and compliant anti-doping program with the World Anti-Doping Code. The experience of CCES office staff and doping control officers demonstrated a high level of expertise in meeting the operational and budgetary requirements of the TO2015 Organizing Committee, as well as its partners and stakeholders. Future Organizing Committees should consider the CCES as a world leader in the design and implementation of major games anti-doping programs.”
