The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) and the CCES partnered to deliver anti-doping services for the 2010 Winter Games.
VANOC and the CCES worked together for more than four years to develop the VANOC Anti-Doping Program. VANOC’s primary objective was the creation of a state-of-the-art anti-doping program that showcased the Canadian approach to ensuring clean competition at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The VANOC Anti-Doping Program was conducted under VANOC’s authority. The CCES, an independent, ISO-certified, national anti-doping agency, provided VANOC with expertise in the form of staff seconded to the VANOC team, as well as training and other services on a cost-recovery basis.
VANOC was responsible for the planning, organizing, financing and staging of the XXI Olympic Winter Games and the X Paralympic Winter Games in 2010 in Vancouver and Whistler. The 2010 Olympic Winter Games was held from February 12 to 28 and the Paralympic Winter Games was held from from March 12 to 21.
