As a condition of hosting major games, host societies must provide a sound anti-doping operation.  Anti-doping is a specialized area of responsibility and in the vast majority of cases, compliance with the WADA Code is an absolute requirement.

CCES is an international leader in anti-doping. With more than 18 years managing Canada’s anti-doping program, the CCES is recognized as one of the world’s leading agencies in the field of anti-doping and sport ethics. We pride ourselves on the quality services we are able to provide to event organizers, sport organizations and clubs.

In 2006, the CCES partnered with the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) to provide anti-doping services for the 2010 Games. The VANOC Anti-Doping Program will be conducted by the VANOC Anti-doping team under the authority of the IOC. The CCES will provide VANOC with expertise and training as well as a range of other services.

The knowledge and experience acquired by CCES personnel in Vancouver and elsewhere in the world while serving on organizing committees for Major Games, enables the CCES to successfully manage all phases of the doping control operations in accordance with international standards.

"Canada and the CCES are world leaders in the fight against doping in sport. This partnership between the CCES and VANOC underscores our commitment to staging doping-free Games,"said Dr. Jack Taunton, VANOC’s chief medical officer.

The CCES is pleased to be able to offer event organizers and host societies a complete Major Games Anti-Doping package.
