(Ottawa, Ontario – March 1, 2011) – An updated version of the Canadian Anti-Doping Program (CADP) came into effect today. These rules govern how anti-doping is conducted in Canada and are administered by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) on behalf of the Canadian sport community.
Sport organizations and athletes should take note of the following changes:
You can download the updated CADP at www.cces.ca/cadp.
Sport organizations are not required to re-adopt the CADP. The program’s revision rules (1.28-1.30) allow changes to be made providing there is stakeholder consultation and substantial agreement. Previous advisory notes were released encouraging public feedback on the revisions to the CADP during the period of June 30 to September 7, 2010. The CCES thanks the sport community for its contributions.
The CCES is an independent, national, non-profit organization. Our mission, to foster ethical sport for all Canadians, is carried out through research, promotion, education, detection and deterrence, as well as through programs and partnerships with other organizations.
